Oppong K. Kyeremanteng

Oppong K. Kyeremanteng is a dynamic and results-oriented ICT professional with over a decade of practical experience in hospital information systems, IT infrastructure, systems programming, and business technology support.

Currently serving as the Acting Head of the Hospital Information Systems Department at The Trust Hospital Company Limited, he provides strategic leadership in aligning technology with healthcare objectives, managing system operations, and driving innovation to improve patient care, data security, and organisational efficiency. In this role, Oppong collaborates across departments, advises executive leadership, and oversees planning, budgeting, staffing, and policy development for hospital-wide digital systems.

Prior to this role, he served for nearly a decade as Systems Programmer and Head of ICT Operations and Business Support, where he managed the hospital’s main information system ( i.e HealthPro software), developed in-house C# applications, wrote complex SQL queries for data analysis, and led the implementation of enterprise-wide IT projects. His proactive problem-solving and strong programming background were key in streamlining operations and delivering real-time technical solutions.

Oppong began his professional journey at the University of Ghana Computing Systems (UGCS) as part of the Networking Operating Centre (NOC) team during his national service. There, he provided end-user network support, configured IP phones and wireless settings, installed software, and played a key role in internet troubleshooting and access point management. Earlier, during his internship at Life Link/Click Consult, he was responsible for managing internet café operations and assisting in organising international youth conferences.

He holds a Master of Philosophy in Information Communication Technology from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), along with BSc in Computer Engineering from the University of Ghana, Legon. He is also a Certified Data Protection Supervisor, accredited by the Ghana Data Protection Commission.

A natural leader and active community member, Oppong served for six years as President of the Young Peoples’ Guild at the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. He has also taken part in leadership and technology programmes, including the MIT–AITI (Accelerating Information Technology Innovation) initiative. His skills in communication, adaptability, planning, and technical execution are complemented by his commitment to innovation, service, and lifelong learning. Outside of work, Oppong is an avid sports fan who enjoys volleyball, football, and basketball, as well as reading, travelling, and exploring new technologies.
