Dr. Christian Addae

Dr. Christian Addae is a highly accomplished Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist with 20 years of clinical experience, specialising in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, and the management of chronic non-communicable diseases.

Currently serving as the Chief of Medical Staff at the Trust Hospital, and responsible for overseeing the clinical performance and professional conduct of the medical staff. He adopts a patient-centred and evidence-based approach to managing a wide range of endocrine and chronic medical conditions.

Prior to his current role, he held several senior positions at the same institution, including Senior Physician Specialist and Head of the Diabetes Clinic, where he led multidisciplinary teams and implemented care protocols to improve outcomes for patients with diabetes, thyroid disorders, and other hormonal imbalances.

Dr. Addae completed his specialist training in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, in collaboration with the West African College of Physicians, where he also fulfilled his residency in Internal Medicine. 

He became a Member of the West African College of Physicians (MWACP) in Internal Medicine and has since established a distinguished record of clinical excellence in both public and private healthcare sectors, including prior appointments at Volta River Authority Hospital in Akosombo, 37 Military Hospital.

With academic roots at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Dr. Addae earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and an MBChB in Medicine and Surgery. He holds a certificate in Health Administration and Management from GIMPA in 2011, and also completed a two-year management course at the KNUST – Institute of Distance Learning, in collaboration with the Commonwealth of Learning, Canada, from 2010 to 2012 (Commonwealth Executive Master’s in Business Administration).

He is recognised for his extensive expertise in diabetes care, endocrine disorders, and systemic metabolic conditions, as well as for his leadership in clinical service delivery, research-based practice, and medical training.

He is a proud member of the Ghana Medical Association and the Diabetes, Endocrine & Metabolic Society of Ghana (DEMSOG), and is dedicated to supporting national and regional efforts to advance the prevention and treatment of endocrine and metabolic diseases and was involved in the writing (drafting) of the 1st National guidelines for the management of Diabetes in Ghana.

Through his work, Dr. Addae continues to shape the future of chronic disease care in Ghana, blending clinical rigour with a compassionate, holistic approach to patient wellbeing.
