Ambassador Edith Hazel (Mrs.) – Board Chair

Ambassador Edith Hazel (Ambassador Hazel) is a distinguished diplomat, accomplished public servant and respected national leader with over forty years of experience in governance, international relations, public administration and social development.

She currently serves as Board Chair of the Trust Hospital, where she provides strategic leadership, sound corporate governance and policy direction in support of the hospital’s commitment to high quality patient-centred healthcare. Her leadership is guided by integrity, accountability and a deep commitment to service of excellence and national development, aligning strongly with the hospital’s mission and values.

Ambassador Hazel has represented the Republic of Ghana with distinction in senior diplomatic roles including as Ambassador to Denmark with concurrent accreditation to Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland and as Deputy Head of Mission at the Ghana Embassy in Washington DC. In these roles she played a key part in advancing Ghana’s foreign policy objectives strengthening bilateral and multilateral partnerships and engaging international institutions on political and economic development matters.

She previously served as a member of Parliament. Ambassador Hazel brings deep board-level experience, diplomatic acumen and a strong understanding of public health systems aligning closely with the Trust Hospital’s mission to deliver accessible and affordable healthcare.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in English and History.
