The Trust Hospital Company Limited (TTHCL), one of Ghana’s leading private healthcare providers, has appointed Dr. David Kwabena Okoh as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 3 August 2026.
Dr. Okoh brings more than 17 years of distinguished experience in hospital leadership, clinical governance and health systems strengthening, having successfully led major healthcare institutions and championed transformational improvements in healthcare delivery across Ghana.
Prior to his appointment, Dr. Okoh served as the Medical Superintendent of Weija Gbawe Municipal Hospital, where he provided executive leadership to a workforce exceeding 700 staff members. During his tenure, the hospital was recognized as the Overall Best Performing Hospital in the Greater Accra Region in 2025, demonstrating substantial advancements in quality enhancement, operational efficiency, and patient care.
His leadership also led to a significant expansion of surgical services, with monthly surgical volumes increasing by over 130 percent. Additionally, he spearheaded major infrastructure projects, including the establishment of an in-service training facility, dedicated surgical wards for males and females, and the enhancement of Child Welfare and Antiretroviral Therapy services.
Earlier, as Medical Superintendent of Achimota Hospital, Dr. Okoh established the hospital’s surgical unit from the ground up, transforming it into a thriving service while mobilising strategic partnerships that led to the construction of a modern Emergency Room, installation of piped oxygen across all wards, and renovation of the Child Welfare Clinic.
A Senior Surgical Specialist by profession, Dr. Okoh holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) and a Bachelor of Science in Medical Sciences from the University of Ghana. He is a Member of the Faculty of Surgery of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons and has undertaken executive leadership training in Health Systems Management, Leadership and Governance, as well as Health Administration and Management.
